The average business travel buyer across the respondents of the 2012 salary survey earns a total package of £60,464 per annum, is aged between 36 years to 45 years old, has between 6 to 10 years' experience and is based in the South East, according to results released today by ITM.

The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) has announced a partnership with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS).

The agreement means members of both organisations will be offered discounted membership of the partner institute. CIPS and ITM will also offer a selection of one-day masterclasses covering both professional procurement techniques and travel-specific category expertise initially in the areas of airline, hotel, travel technology and travel service provision.

ITM and Advantage Launch Crisis Management Tool

The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) UK & Ireland, today announced the formal release of a hub designed to support crisis management by business travel professionals in the UK.

The hub, being launched in a beta format on 14th September has been designed by collaboration between Advantage Business Travel Centres and ITM since the association's announcement after the 2010 ash cloud of the creation of ITM Phoenix to better serve the industry during a crisis.

ITM Releases 50-Page Guide to Ancillary Fees and Direct Connect

The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) UK & Ireland has today released a fifty page report to its Business level members about ancillary fees and direct connect technology. The report was produced by the association as a direct result of the call by buyer members to better understand the issues surrounding airline business model changes and the impacts on managed travel at different stages of the booking process. "The Collapse of Simplicity?", as the report is entitled, looks at how fares are distributed today and the existing methods of distributing additional airline items. It then goes on to look into the changes which are taking place in those systems and the impact on different aspects of managed travel programmes. The document, which has purposefully been created to allow those without in-depth distribution knowledge to understand what's going on, ends with ITM's buyer-led position on the issues laid out for members.

ITM Releases Third "How To..." Guide - The Fundamentals of a Global Travel Programme

The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) UK & Ireland has announced the launch of it's third "How To..." guide this year, focusing on the Fundamentals of a Global Travel Programme. The guide follows on the footsteps of the associations Fundamentals of a Travel Programme guide issued in January and part one of its Meetings & Events guide launched in February of this year.
