Association Hails ITM Connect As A Resounding Success

The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) UK & Ireland has announced that, since the launch of its new ITM Connect tier of membership at conference, it has attracted over 250 new members in just 4 weeks. The association has also stated that interest in its Business level membership has also increased as a result of the contact that Connect has brought.

ITM launched its two tier membership structure after more than 96% of members approved the changes. The association's board approved changes designed to recognise full paying members as those who are fully engaged in the business of business travel, these are now called Business members. In addition, the introduction of a light version of membership at no cost was designed to attract more UK & Ireland professionals to connect with the association in the first instance.

Talking about the success of the changes Ms Emmanuelle Clement, the association's General Manager responsible for membership, said, "We gave ourselves a target of five hundred new ITM Connect members and to retain our existing Business membership levels by the end of the year, with growth of the latter in year 2. At this rate we will smash those targets, so we are very pleased with the response. There is clearly a real desire for UK & Ireland professionals in this sector to engage at different levels with an independent, buyer-led association and our events in the next few months will bring these people and our business members real value."

The association has created a tour of networking events throughout the UK including the BIG Business Travel & Meetings Quiz in June, the "How To..." Tour in September and the Business Travel & Meetings Update in October.
