ITM Phoenix wins David Brown Outstanding Achievement Award

Updated: 24-01-2012

It was with great pride that the ITM and Advantage Business Travel collaboration that created Phoenix, received the David Brown Outstanding Achievement Award at the prestigious Business Travel Awards 2012.

Phoenix is a crisis management hub, borne out of the Ash Cloud crisis and developed to support business travel professionals in the UK. Phoenix was deemed an outstanding achievement because it has brought together competing suppliers and associations to achieve something greater than the sum of its parts in the interest of the industry and the business travel community.

Jamie Hindhaugh, ITM Chairman & Ken McLeod, Advantage Corporate Director have been the drivers for this project and were there to collect the award on behalf of the two leading UK associations.

"The idea for Phoenix came to me when, during the ash cloud crisis, I realised that the process for receiving up to the minute information from suppliers was hindered by its disparity. We took this seed of an idea to Advantage who represent many of our industry suppliers and between us we have created a solution that everyone is benefiting from" said Jamie.

Ken McLeod, Corporate Director at Advantage Travel Centres, added, "By working together we have created an innovative solution that will prove invaluable as a communication tool for keeping business travel professionals up to date with the latest crucial information in instances of disruption."
